Longhill Park & Lily Hill Park Circular Walk, Bracknell
Wokingham Rocks Rambles. Longhill Park & Lily Hill Park Circular Walk, Bracknell in collaboration with Julia Morrison.
This 2.5 mile (4km) walk takes you through 6 different areas of woodland - perfect for the Autumn! You can find the walk and map of the circuit on the @bracknellforest council website under "Great Places for Circular Walks - Longhill Park Group".
If you park in Lily Hill Park North Car Park (RG12 2RX, Lily Hill Rd, Bracknell), you can complete the Longhill Park circuit first, then explore the Lily Hill Park route.
From the car park, follow the map towards Clinton's Hill woodland copse, then cross over Bullbrook Drive towards a small play area and into another woodland copse as you walk towards Saxon Drive and Harvest Ride.
You'll then enter Longhill Park where you can go slightly off the map to discover more woodland (where you can spot some great den building!), before you head towards the main open grassland and another small playground.
Longhill Park is also the site of the large skate park, situated next to the car park. With the skate park on your left, you'll then head into more woodland and eventually make your way down some steps back towards Lily Hill Road to join the Lily Hill Park circuit.
Follow the circular walk around Lily Hill park.....or make your own way around to see if you can spot the amphitheatre, England's longest picnic bench and Father Oak.
To keep younger children entertained throughout the walk, Autumn is a great time to encourage a scavenger hunt for acorns, different leaves, conkers and spot how many squirrel/mushrooms you can see (but not touch!).
Once you've completed the walk, you can treat yourself to hot chocolate, coffee and snacks at Ziggy's Outside Catering back at the car park (check their Facebook page for opening times).
