Super Strong Minds - Resilience Workshop (with tennis!)

Two-day course: 7th and 8th April

Time: 10am – 4pm each day

Ages: 8-14

Location: Floreat Montague Park Primary School, Wokingham

ABOUT THE Workshop

This is a special Easter version of our Super Strong Minds workshop, combining our usual powerful resilience programme with fun, professional tennis coaching, games and challenges. No previous experience of tennis is necessary.

Our Super Strong Minds workshop aims to empower children by helping them to understand the power of their mindset. We want to build their self-esteem, and equip them with the tools to help them to persevere and not let challenges get in the way of leading a full and happy life. The workshop will covers serious topics but it will be delivered in a fun and engaging way. It is a mix of discussion and fun activities, so they will learn a lot while having a great time! Many of the resilience lessons will be explored through fun tennis activities, helping children experience ideas like perseverance, teamwork, learning from mistakes and confidence in action

We will cover topics, including:

  • What resilience is and why it’s important in life
  • The joy of making mistakes, taking risks and embracing failure
  • Understanding how our brains work and how that affects our behaviour
  • Managing our emotions
  • Growth mindset vs fixed mindset – instilling the belief that we can get better at things.
  • Kindness – building a strong support network AND being kind to ourselves
  • Building a Resilience Toolkit – tips and techniques to use when things get tricky.

Overall, the workshop is designed to help children be the best versions of themselves, regardless of what is going on in the world around them.

Our workshops are designed by Greig Trout, a former CSI and founder of 101 Things To Do When You Survive, and Jaime Thurston BEM, CEO of the 52 Lives charity and author of two books on kindness.
