Splash Parks and Outdoor Pools in Wokingham
Feeling Hot Hot Hot? The weather is finally warming up, so we have pulled together a round up of some of the best local splash pads, water parks and outdoor pools near Wokingham to keep cool over the summer.
Not all these splash parks are open yet, but we will update this guide regularly to keep you upto date with what’s open when.
Jocks Lane Splash Park
Opens Monday 21st June - This is one of the most popular splash pads in the local area! There is so much to do here, including a brilliant playground, a large playing field and plenty of space for picnics. There is an onsite café with toilet facilities which are open during peak times.
This isn’t the largest of splash pads but its ideal for toddlers.
Open daily from 10am until 6pm.
There is plenty of free parking

Locks Ride Splash Park
Now Open - Locks Ride splash park maybe as close to a beach holiday as we will get this year! With Sand and Water play this is a super popular one for the kiddies.
The Locks Ride Cabin sells ice creams and light refreshments, or if you are after something more substantial you can hire a BBQ area and stay all day!
There is plenty of free parking and toilet facilities.
Open Daily from 11am-1pm and then again from 3pm until 5pm.

Great Hollands Splash Park and Paddling Pool
Currently Closed, Due to open on the 21st June 2021 - The whale splash pad at Great Hollands features 13 water soakers and 2 bucket drenchers! The buckets slowly fill with water before tipping over to drench anyone standing underneath; perfect for cooling off on a hot day! The splash pad also features mini fountain jets, water bouquets and water tunnels!
There are plenty of picnic spots on the Great Hollands Field next door along with free parking and toilet facilities.
The coffee shop onsite open between 11am-5pm
Splash Pad and Paddling Pool will be open daily between 11am and 5pm after the 21st June

California Country Park Paddling Pool

The playground which recently opened at California Country Park no longer requires pre-booking so you can use it before or after your swim session. Jacksons Café is also well worth a visit for drinks and snacks. They stock amazing Brownies from Gorilla Bakes and Donuts from Unholy Donuts which are incredible.

Wellington Country Park
Now Open Wellington has a huge splash zone within the park which is now open. It can get busy during peak times so our top tip is to visit earlier in the day when it opens at 10am. We often get the splash pad to ourselves for half an hour or so if we go at that time.

Now Open The Paddling Pool at Beale Park is open every day during the summer months. Its very shallow, approximately knee height for toddlers but its great for a splash around and to cool off.

A little further away
Liquid Leisure Activity Park
Now Open - Liquid Leisure is home to Europe’s Largest Aqua Park and the first official Ninja Warrior UK Aqua Park, set on one of the most beautiful private freshwater lakes amongst stunning parkland near Windsor. Activities include Inflatable Aqua Park, Wakeboarding, Open Waterswimming and Boating. The beach is the perfect spot to relax after burning off some energy.
There is a full bar on site servicing hot food and drink.

Now Open - Aqua Park in Caversham is brilliant place to visit for the adrenalin loving families! There is a seriously impressive Inflatable Course along with paddle boarding, Canoeing, Nature Trails and a family beach. There is an onsite restaurant servicing delicious food and drink.
Fully Open - Lagoona Park Reading is a beautiful fresh water lake, sandy beach and paddle area. There are lots of family activities to enjoy such as the famous aqua park as well as paddle boarding. There are changing facilities, showers and toilets along with a brilliant Bar and Grill serving hot food and drinks.

Stoke Park Paddling Pool
Now Open Refurbished in 2016, the large Stoke Park paddling pool has gained water sprays for little ones to enjoy. There is now wheelchair access to the pool. Public toilets are available.
There is parking available but charges do apply. The paddling pool is free to visit and no booking is required.

Frensham Great Pond Farnham
Now Open - A huge sandy lake with beach to play on and build sandcastles, swimming in clearly marked areas. There is a network of footpaths and a beautiful circular loop around the lake which is suitable for buggies. There is a visitor centre, café, toilets.
No bookings are required and it can get popular in the summer months so arrive early if you can.
