Cliveden Woodland Walk

👣 Cliveden Woodland Walk, National Trust, Taplow, Maidenhead 👣

👀 A different view of Cliveden for this week's Wednesday Walk in collab with Julia Morrison Photo

🧡 Cliveden is one of our nearest and most impressive National Trust properties, but have you ever discovered the Woodland and Riverside walks there? 🍁

🚙 Parking is available at the Woodlands Car Park (SL6 0HJ) as the start point of the walks, as well as a great way to avoid the weekend crowds in the main car park! However, you will either need to be a National Trust member or pay an admission fee. 🎫

🌲 There are 5 woodland walking trails detailed on the National Trust (Cliveden) website, of different challenges and lengths, starting from a family friendly 1.5 miles. 🌳

Whilst walking through the woodland, children can also enjoy discovering Clive's Den and a Play Trail.

🍰 There's a perfect opportunity for a refreshment break just over halfway around the Gold trail - make a quick detour to the Cliveden Boathouse, where there is a coffee hut and toilets. You can enjoy a cuppa and a cake on the lawned area near the Boathouse, with lots of picnic benches overlooking the scenic River Thames. ☕

⭐ The trail then takes you up some steep steps to the Duke of Sutherland statue, for a fabulous view of the Cliveden estate and a viewpoint over the valley below. You then walk back through woodland to the car park.⭐

The Gold Walking trail is not suitable for buggies due to the steep steps involved. Follow one of the shorter trails that avoids climbing down to (and back up from) the riverside.

🚶‍♀️ For an even longer walk you can make a detour to the main estate itself.
