The wait is almost over! Twyford Scarecrow Trail is set to return to the village for another spectacular year. The trail is set to take place from Monday 28th October – Saturday 2nd November 2024, transporting us into the wonderland that is Children’s literature.
This fun, engaging event is both rewarding for the entire community and an incredible opportunity to raise funds for the two local schools Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs). Polehampton Infant & Junior Schools and The Colleton Primary School are excited to have the opportunity to fundraise for important educational initiatives that directly benefit their students.
What can families expect from this exciting event?
The Twyford Scarecrow Trail promises an enchanting journey through the village. Last year we had 60 scarecrows on display, and this year we’re expecting more. Each scarecrow is crafted by local residents, businesses and community groups, showcasing their creativity and imagination.
This event is perfect for families looking for engaging activities during the half-term break. Children will have the opportunity to discover these scarecrow creations, sparking their own creativity and imagination.
To ensure you don't miss any of the scarecrows, printed maps will be on sale for just £3 each at Grapevine Estate Agents (9am-5pm) and Ola Coffee Shop (8am-3pm) during the week of the event. These maps are the key to navigating the trail, allowing families to efficiently plan their route.
As part of the event, local businesses have been encouraged to join in the fun by creating their own scarecrows to display. No event is complete without delicious food and beverages. Local shops will be open, offering a range of tasty treats and drinks, ensuring that visitors are well-fuelled for their adventure.
Above all, the Twyford Scarecrow Trail embodies the spirit of community and togetherness. It's an opportunity for neighbours to connect and support local schools, creating lasting memories for all.
The Twyford Scarecrow Trail promises to be a highlight of this year's half-term activities, offering a unique and enchanting experience for families. We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy this wonderful event, all while supporting the local schools. Together, we can make a difference in our community and ensure that local education continues to thrive.
Don't miss this opportunity to embark on a magical journey through the heart of Twyford.
