Wokingham Children's Book Festival

Young book fans get ready as the return of the Wokingham Children’s Book Festival will once again see a fantastic line-up of award-winning authors come to town in October. 


Now in its seventh year, the festival will be held over the weekend of 19 and 20 October, with a total of 13 events featuring award-winning authors and illustrators.

If you have ever wanted the chance to meet your favourite authors, enjoy storytelling in an immersive environment and take part in fun sessions, this is the perfect event for you. Sessions will be held at Wokingham Town Hall and Wokingham Library, with a mixture of book readings, crafting and singing.

 

Saturday 19th October - Wokingham Library                                                                          

10:30am –Julia Donaldson Storytime with the Enchanted Players for 3 to 7 year olds


Sunday 20th October - Wokingham Town Hall

10am – The Dragonsitter and The Time Travel Twins with Josh Lacey for 5 to 11 year olds
11:30am – Wild Animals with Holly Webb for 6 to 10 year olds
1:30pm – Christopher Nibble with Charlotte Middleton for 3 to 5 year olds
3pm – Reading, Writing and Talking Football with Matt Oldfield and Seth Burkett for 7+ year olds.


Sunday 20th October - Wokingham Library 

10am – Cat Nap and Bird Bath with Steve Antony (relaxed session) for 3 to 6 years old
10am – Investigate the science behind your favourite fairytales with Catherine Cawthorne for 5 to 11 year olds
11:30am – From Funny to Spooky, a wild trip round the books of A.F. Harrold for 7+ year olds
11:30am – Writing the Nested Narrative Story with Eva Wong Nava for 10+ year olds
1:30pm – Campfire Stories: Unlocking your Imagination with Eloise De Sousa for 6+ year olds
1:30pm – Journey through the world of Serendib with Nizrana Farook for 7 to 11 year olds
3pm – Wonderous Words Writing Workshop – Learn how to write with Rowan Foxwood for 8 to 12 year olds
3pm – Tairai & the Safari Five – The Tirivhu Games with SP K-Mushambi for 4 to 8 year olds

Tickets remain priced at £3 per person and can be purchased from the Wokingham Children’s Book Festival website.
