Wokingham Children's Book Festival

Young book fans get ready as the return of the Wokingham Children’s Book Festival will once again see a fantastic line-up of award-winning authors come to town in October. 

The Wokingham Children’s Book Festival will be held on the weekend of Saturday October 17th to Sunday October 18th 2026. Put a note in your diary and don’t forget to book some events!

There will be 13 events, aimed at a range of ages, where you can meet authors giving sessions on subjects such as the writing process and their characters.


Saturday 17th October - Sports Hall, Carnival Hub      

                                                             

1pm - Cressida Cowell: How to Train Your Dragon School: Fight of the Flamestrike for 7+


Sunday 18th October - Wokingham Town Hall

10am – Spies and Guides with Holly Webb for 8 to 13 year olds
11:30am – Chicken Vs. Egg – A Musical Egg-stravaganza with Gareth P Jones for 4 to 7 year olds
1:30pm – If I Met a Tiger (I’d Let it Eat Me) with A.F. Harrold for 7 to 11 year olds
3pm – The Rapping Princess with Hannah Lee for 0-6 year olds.


Sunday 18th October - Wokingham Library 

10am – Your Happiness is in Your Hands with Becky Goddard-Hill for 6 to 12 years old
10am – Little Acorn with Adam Stower for 3 to 5 year olds
11:30am – Autumn Fun with Fiona Barker for 3 - 7 year olds
11:30am – Mythical Map-Making Storytelling with Eric Huang for 6 - 10 year olds
1:30pm – Journey through the Wild World of Serendib with Nizrana Farook for 7 to 12 year olds
1:30pm – Hettie Nettle’s Handbook for Hedgewitches with Claire Barker for 6 to 10 year olds
3pm – Get inventing with Izzy the Inventor (and Zanna Davidson) for 5 to 8 year olds
3pm – Meet James & Penny with Chris Dewar for 10+

Tickets remain priced at £3 per person and can be purchased from the Wokingham Children’s Book Festival website.
