Halloween is just around the corner, and whilst it's easy to buy a pumpkin in the supermarket, it's great fun to pick your own! Pumpkin Picking is a great activity to do with the whole family, and there are lots of places around Wokingham where you can pick the perfect pumpkin!
Wokingham communities really love a Halloween event, and we look forward to the trails every year! We've pulled together our round up of all the best spooky goings on for Halloween locally! We’ve got trails, days out, forest frolics and so much more!

Pick your own pumpkins near Wokingham

Wasing Park - PYO Pumpkins and Woodland Trail
(AD/gifted) Back for October 2025, visit Wasing's Pick Your Own Pumpkin field & Woodland Trail. Running from 17th - 19th October and 14th - 31th October. At the heart of stunning Wasing Estate near Aldermaston lies a very special pumpkin patch. Visitors are invited to follow the enchanting decorated woodland trail through Wasing's stunning autumnal woodland then head for the pumpkin patch where a fairytale pumpkin carriage awaits and where you can choose your perfect pumpkin, nestled in our organic field left just as nature intended, to take home & carve. Afterwards enjoy tasty seasonal snacks and hot & cold drinks under our beautiful stretch tent.
- Woodland Trail
Follow a magical seasonal trail, designed for little legs, through the Estate's stunning autumnal woodland and encounter upon some special moments amongst the trees, with a children's activity to complete along the way.
- Pumpkin Patch
The leafy pathways of the woodland trail lead to Wasing's pumpkin patch where a fairytale pumpkin carriage awaits. Collect a wheelbarrow - great fun for the little ones to take a ride in! - and find your perfect pumpkin match in Wasing's patch to take home and carve. We are proud to be an organic farm & our pumpkin field is just as nature intended. We don't use any harmful weedkillers and pesticides & invite you to have fun finding your pumpkin amongst the vines and plant life.
- Seasonal Snacks
Treat yourself to a tasty seasonal snack and keep warm with a delicious hot chocolate, all served under our beautiful stretch tent with stunning views.
- Outdoor Experience
Please wear wellies or boots and appropriate outdoor clothing as this experience takes place outdoors in woodland areas and fields.

Pumpkin Picking at The Little Play Lounge
Halloween can be scary for little ones, so we've got other plans...
Join us for autumnal pumpkin picking with all the family; play on some hay bales, enjoy our pumpkin themed games, chat to our happy scarecrows and take some photos for the family album!
Our Pumpkin Picking dates; 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th & 29th of October:
Booking:
- Please carefully select the time you would like to arrive - arrival times are every 30 minutes
- Once bookings are made, we cannot swap or refund your tickets so please ensure you have selected the correct date and time.
- Little ones under 1 years old are free and do not need a ticket to enter.
Important Information:
- This is an outdoor event, please dress accordingly
- The Little Play Lounge is closed whilst our Pumpkin Picking event is on
- The ticket price is for event entry only
- Pumpkins will be available to pick and buy
- No animals are permitted onsite
- Food and drink purchased elsewhere is not permitted onsite
- Last food and drinks orders are at 2.30pm each day
- The venue shuts at 3.30pm each day
The Pumpkin Event:
- After parking, make your way to our venue entrance to check in with a member of our team
- Our cafe will be open, serving a range of cakes, snacks and drinks,
- Our outdoor kitchen will be serving delicious homemade pizzas
- The paddock will have lots of pumpkin themed activities for your little ones plus giant haystack, hay pyramid and fabric maze
- Farm machinery will be onsite, please ensure your children are supervised at all times if they chose to play on it

Copas Farm (Iver & Cookham)
Open every weekend in October and half term week. Vouchers are £3.00 per person plus £1 admin fee, (adults and children aged 2 and over). This allows access to the pumpkin fields for photo opportunities to admire the spectacle of acres of beautiful pumpkins.
Use of a wheel barrow to collect your Pumpkins
Pumpkins are only £1 per kg
Squash are £1.95 each for small ones , £2.50 each for larger ones
Teas and coffees from Maggies Van
The maize maze ay Cookham will be open during pumpkin season, and you will be able to purchase tickets at the farm shop.

Join us for some Autumnal fun this October, and children don't forget to come dressed up for our Costume parade with prizes handed out by Jack Pumpkin!
Plus - Food & Drink, Seasonal Activities, The Pumpkin Witch Stilt, Craft Stalls, Rides, Bungee Trampolines & soft play centre, Games & More!
Entry is £1 per adult, no booking required
Cash event - although most of our vendors take cash and card, signal can sometimes be tricky for card readers and so please consider bringing some cash along.
Dogs are very welcome! (On leads in the event area please)
This is not a Pumpkin Patch event - although there may be some pumpkins to purchase!
Halloween Events

Chocolate for Chocoholics half-term fun
On Tuesday the 28th and Thursday the 30th October, we'll be opening our workshop for Halloween half term drop-in sessions! Come along between 10am and 3pm to make your very own spooky chocolate bar, for just £10 per bar.
It's also a good chance to stock up on goodies for trick or treaters later in the week.

Spooky Adventure Golf at Golfplex
Join us this Halloween week as the ghosts and ghouls take over Bear Mountain Adventure Golf. It's going to be a fun, spooky experience for adults and children of all ages.

Cantley House Afternoon Tea
Looking for a great Halloween Activity or event for the kids this Half Term in or around Wokingham, Reading and Bracknell? Well this might be the perfect 'treat' for you - Cantley House Halloween Afternoon Tea & Spooky Trail is available from Monday 27th October through to Wednesday 29th October 2025.
Feast on a spooktacular Halloween themed afternoon tea in the 17th century converted barn followed by a Halloween trail for all of the kids an adventure filled with cryptic clues, creepy crawlies and spooky surprises at every turn. For those brave enough to reach the end a delicious reward awaits.

Pumpkin Trail - The Look Out
25th Oct - 2nd Nov
A fantastic family event taking place at The Lookout Discovery Centre, Bracknell this October Half Term.
- Purchase a map for suggested donation of £3 from The Look Out Discovery Centre
- Follow the c.2km trail around Swinley Forest
- Find the letters that spell out a secret word
- Once completed, head back to The Look Out Discovery Centre to be rewarded with your treat.

Twyford Scarecrow Trail
The Twyford Scarecrow Trail is back this October half term, and applications are now open for residents, businesses, and community groups who would like to take part!
From Monday 27th October to Saturday 1st November, the village will be transformed into a wonderful trail of creative scarecrows for everyone to enjoy. This will be the third year running the trail, organised jointly by the Polehampton Infant and Junior Schools PTA and The Colleton School PTA, and we can’t wait to see the streets of Twyford come alive again.
This year’s theme is “T for Twyford”, so let your imagination run wild! Your scarecrow could be:
- A famous person whose name begins with “T” (Taylor Swift? Tom Hardy? Tina Turner?)
- Someone trampolining, tap dancing, or doing Taekwondo
- An creature like a tortoise or toucan
- Or your child’s favourite TV or book character that fits the theme
If you live in Twyford, simply sign up using the form below and display your scarecrow from 9am–5pm each day of the trail. If you don’t live in the village but would love to join in, we can match you with a local resident or business who can host your creation, just drop an email to polehamptonpta@gmail.com. Binfield Scarecrow Trail 2025 - marks 10 years!
The famous Binfield Halloween Trail is BACK! And this year marks 10 years of the Scarecrow hunt!!
Taking place on between the 25th Oct and 2nd November.
The village of Binfield put on a fantastic trail every year, and this year is set to be bigger than better than ever. Would you like to get your scarecrow on the map? Now is the time to sign up, click here to register your scarecrow now!
